I have some news to share with you on what I will be working on for the next couple of month. You’ve seen some hints in my previous post.
The neutral news: the pattern voting is now closed. There are 2 dresses that came first:
I will choose the one I like most 🙂 And you know which one if you’ve read the post.
The bad news: I decided to postpone the dress pattern drafting. I have changed my mind in the meantime while waiting for the poll results. Read further why.
The good news: I have started a tutorial a couple of years ago on how to cut and sew a bra from a to z. The tutorial was in Romanian but I want to translate it. The tutorial is split on several chapters. First 2 chapters were written. But when the time has come to sew the bra and take picture of the process, it all stopped. There were many reasons: bad camera (for taking accurate pictures); because of the camera, I needed to choose a fabric that would show ok on pictures, and I had none. Later I did not have some other pieces, etc. But the good news is: I am getting back on writing the tutorial and I plan to finish it! And for prove, here are some sneak pics:
I know there are blogs that have already written very nice posts on this topic. However, I want my tutorial to be very detailed, with lots of pictures. It will be more like a sew-along. I want to see many of you, readers, starting to sew bras!
The great news: or at least I hope it to be, is… I am working on a new pattern! Under-wire bra pattern! These here are paper cups on some sizes I was testing for volume:
This bra pattern will be free to download, just like my dress pattern! First patterns will be my size – EU70C, EU70B, and my moms – EU95AA, EU80B. But I will add more if you are willing to test & collaborate with me. So, what do you think about this idea of mine? Would you like to test my bra pattern? Leave your reply in the comments section.
Of course first bras will be mine and my moms 🙂 The pattern is not ready yet. I am working on last design lines for the second bra to test.
One more thing: the sewing bra tutorial was initially planed with per-formed foam cups. I have changed my mind about that. My pattern can be sewn with any types of cups: simple lace/jersey/lycra cups, foam that must be sewn, per-formed foam. So I was thinking: I need to change the tutorial. So I will! My bra making tutorial will show how to sew my bra pattern from start to end.
Now, there are no more excuses for you to avoid sewing a bra! I will be there with you all along! I am not changing my mind or at least I hope so. I am scared already to think how many articles I have to write before actually releasing the bra pattern. But with your support I really hope to get there!
