For the upcoming Valentine’s Day, I prepped a special design that I called – Tie me up. This is a rather bold design. But this can also be used for a swimsuit too having full cups (not just the butterfly wings) of course.
And, let me quickly tell you that Package 2 for the Butterfly add-on is now available in my Etsy shop.
Package 1 for the Butterfly Add On is available on Etsy
Package 2 for the Butterfly Add On is available on Etsy
If you worry this is going to be complicated, you need not. First, start off having the Addon package available. You’re gonna cut the piece following the lines marked for Style 1.
How to change the pattern
Grab and tape an additional sheet of paper to the Butterfly piece. Then with a ruler, prolong top and bottom edges. See in the pictures the amount. Having top and bottom segments marked, join the ends with a straight line. And split it in half. Mark this middle point. With the guidance lines and points, form the new Butterfly piece as shown. What’s left, is to cut your new piece and it’s ready for choosing fabrics and planning the colors and design.
Sewing the “Tie me up” design
You will sew this following Style 2 construction guide. But you’re gonna add the satin stripe on the bridge (as for Style 1) – because there’s where we’ll tie the wings to. Of course, I choose the vivid red, how could I not?
When done, it’s time to nod the wings. Add a brooch, puff two drops of fine perfume, and … feel exquisite!
I love colors a lot. Yet, red is something I avoid. It’s a rich color, but it’s also difficult for a project. However, it’s my strong belief that once in a while, everyone should give it a try and have that one red outstanding piece (not just as Valentine’s Day design) in their secret lingerie drawer!
