An exquisite Halloween bra
For a very long time, a Halloween bra has been a to-do item on my list. The biggest challenge for a themed bra is, I want the bra to be wearable regardless of the season or the Holiday. Basically, a practical bra or I wouldn’t otherwise have it.
And how do you fit in the spooky, and the oh-oh the vivid-bright screaming orange color for a … practical, but at the same time exquisite bra? In fact, if I look at any lingerie shop, it’s rather hard to find an orange-colored bra. Lingerie inspiration on Social Media is always pastels, flowers, black, red, blue…
It is quite often you envision a design, but when you make it, it looks different. With this bra, it’s my first time when the bra turned out exactly as I had it projected in my mind. The task was clear, the requirements were very strict. I leave it to you to analyze and judge if all of them were checked.
The cups
Taking them one by one, the cups are made from foam covered with juicy orange satin. This is the Afi Exquisite bra. The sling (outer cup piece), is not made from foam. The satin there is heavily interfaced. The bright satin stripes covering the foam resemble a pumpkin. Two pumpkins on my chest!
The front
The center element is, of course, the net and the spider. This was made with the Afi Butterfly. I added a few decorative stitches on the stretch mesh. The spider pleats the net in the middle. The spider is a brooch. Later on, it can be replaced with anything else, or it can be removed completely.
The back
But the back. The back is one element I changed from the original thought. Initially, the back should’ve been a simple black powernet. The spider’s web theme called for straps. And the back was the only place I could fit them in. Several curses were thrown when I had to sew those elastics with silicon stripes. I warn you all: don’t follow my mistake! It’s a nightmare to sew one, but all of them are real torture. If you want to replicate my design, choose a simple strap elastic.
Now if I look at it, the back resembles more with ribs. The elastics are spaced on purpose. The fit and stability of the silicon are great! Maybe it’s too much for the rich front. It may. But I love this a LOT!
